Toasted Sesame Oil
Country of Origin: Taiwan
Toasted Sesame Oil is derived straight from toasted sesame seeds. Toasting the seeds before extracting the oil adds deeper layers of flavor to the oil. With a lower smoke point than regular sesame seed oil, this product is better used for finishing rather than cooking. Roland® Toasted Sesame Oil has a distinct nutty flavor that is perfect for added to marinades or used in an Asian inspired dressing.
Chef Tip: Do not overheat this oil, since it is made from toasted seeds, exposing it to high temperatures will turn the flavor burnt.
Hot Sesame Oil
Country of Origin: Taiwan
Hot Sesame Oil is also derived from toasted white sesame seeds, then chilies are added to bring a bit of heat. Like our Roland® Toasted Sesame Oil, this oil is best for finishing and flavoring. Our Hot Sesame Oil is a dark amber color and has a nutlike flavor with distinct hot "fiery" overtones.
Chef Tip: Drizzle over popcorn with salt in place of butter for a salty and spicy snack
