A Message from Our CEO
To our customers,
At Roland Foods, we remain optimistic as we enter the summer season, with positive updates to report both from a crop and logistical perspective.
Despite recent news about a potential sriracha shortage, Roland Foods remains unaffected. We are stocked and ready to fulfill your sriracha and chili sauce needs.
Overall, we are confident in our current inventory position, as we continue to see positive yields within major categories. The anchovy category continues to see much-needed recovery following the devastating impact of El Niño. With the fishing industry in Peru on the mend, we look forward to seeing improvement in this core category.
Conversely, inclement weather in Asia is impacting the lychee crop, with yields expected to experience a 40% reduction out of China. Product coming from Vietnam is also witnessing a significant decrease with yields expected at 10% of last year's data. At Roland Foods, we are working diligently to procure stable inventory but can expect available supplies to come at a higher cost premium.
Regarding global logistics, import volumes remain robust, driven by resilient consumer spending and escalated demand. As we approach the peak shipping season, we feel confident that these heightened levels will continue to grow.
The Panama Canal continues to increase its daily vessel crossings, relieving congestion and returning to pre-drought operations.
The Suez Canal remains largely unused; at this time there are still no plans for reinstatement. Although conditions are unfavorable, shipping lines have successfully rerouted around this canal.
Our priority remains, as always, our customers. We are dedicated to providing you with the highest quality products and premium service.
